Collaborative Law

Collaborative ProcessCollaborative Law is a non-adversarial process focused on getting parties from dispute to resolution efficiently, and with as little financial and emotional damage as possible, while securing an agreement which addresses their common and individual interests.

Collaborative Law is a new process now being used in a number of areas.

A less expensive option

The key features that make Collaborative Law as less expensive option is that the most knowledgable, least expensive specialist is used when appropriate.

You know your lawyers fee structure upfront and work with your lawyer to put together a team of specialists that can provide the advice and support you need as you go through the collaborative process.

Less emotionally damaging

Collaborative Law is a non-adversarial process.  The process is focused on securing an agreement that everyone can live with.  Being in dispute is tough, especially if the dispute is related to Family Law matters such as child custody and division of assets of a separating couple.  Emotions are high and can prevent strategic decisions being reached.  The Collaborative process ensures that you are supported emotionally.  As well as working through the legal issues with your lawyer you may work with a qualified Collaborative Coach who will help you to deal with the emotional issues and put together a parenting plan.

If you are interested in finding out more about Collaborative Law contact Paul Kenna and have an obligation free conversation about the process or book in for one of the Public Information Sessions Paul runs from his offices in South Melbourne.

Information Sessions

Finalising your divorce isn't like other legal matters and shouldn't be treated with the same adversarial approach. Now it doesn't have to, there is a better way. Collaborative Law is an emerging form of legal practice that brings together trusted legal and other advisers to help you and your ex-partner to negotiate your agreement. It's a process that is respectfully and avoids taking adversarial positions. The threat of going to court is removed and information is shared freely and openly.
